Instead of borrowing physical books, patrons engage in conversations with individuals, or ‘human books,’ who will be sharing their personal experiences with prejudice. This event seeks to acknowledge and challenge the prejudices we all carry while fostering a safe space for open, judgment-free discussions.
Wednesday, January 15, 6pm
In partnership with the University of Arkansas Mathematics Department, teens will explore the advanced mathematical concept of elliptic curve cryptography. Students will build their own curves and use them to securely send and receive messages, authenticate them and perform various cryptographic tasks.
Thursday, January 16, 2pm
Restore a sense of calm and wellbeing in this drop-in class led by instructor Claudia Smith. Through mindful breathing, guided relaxation, and gentle movement, you'll cultivate body awareness and relaxation. Claudia's approach is versatile and focused on helping students feel good in their bodies, promoting overall wellness.
