BOYS CC HOSTS BIG MASON INVITE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT CORWIN NIXON
The Comets will look to continue their momentum this Saturday as they host many of the region's top teams on their home course for the annual Mason Invitational. See details below:
The Mason Cross Country Invitational features:
-A spectator-friendly course.
-Individual Awards to the top 15 finishers in all races.
-Team trophies to the champion and runner-up teams in varsity races. -Concessions and packets near the finish line / T-shirts $20.00 and $25.00.
-Ample space for team camps with nearby restroom facilities.
-Nearly a mile on wooded trails - OHSAA and NFHS compliant course.

MASON FOOTBALL TAILGATE TONIGHT VS. EAST
Mason (0-2, 0-1) will look to another Lakota School (East Thunderhawks 2-0, 1-0) this Friday at home to get in the win column. The Hawks defeated Oak Hills last Friday, 14-7.
This Friday is also the annual Tailgate Night. The MHS Athletic Department will team up with booster/student groups to sponsor a variety of food and game booths in the MMS parking lot before kickoff.

BOYS GOLF MASON INVITE RESULTS
Mason Boys Varsity Golf put the depth of its program on full display in a tournament at Miami Whitewater on Wednesday, September 3rd. Mason fielded 3 teams in the inaugural Mason Invitational at Whitewater, and all 3 teams finished in the top 4 among the 8 school teams.
Team 1 consisted of 5 players from Varsity Green, and that team won the tournament by 14 strokes over Kings. Alex Chamberlain led the team - and was the individual tournament medalist - with a fine score of 74 (+3) that included a 36 on the back nine. Junior Jack Hellmann finished 2nd in the tournament with a score of 76. Both players brought home individual plaques for making the all-tournament team (top 5 players among 40 competitors). Rounding out the scoring for the first team were senior Curtis Crimmins with 78 and junior Jaxson Hutzelman with 79.
Team 2 was formed by 3 players from Varsity Green, joined by two players from Varsity White. Mason 2 finished 3rd in the 8-team event with a team score of 332. Individual scores on that team were senior Sam O'Donnell with 82, juniors Andrew Atchley (82), Josh Morneau (80), and Mason Gallimore with 88.
Team 3 consisted of players from Varsity White and finished 4th in the tournament, defeating 4 of the 5 teams from other schools in the event. Team 3's score was 337, and individual scores for that squad were 82 from senior Patrick Buckley, 83 from sophomore Elijah Goebel, and 86 from sophomores Diego Orozco and Oliver Stuart.
Mason tees it up next in two tournaments this weekend - the Findlay Invitational at Findlay CC on Saturday, 9/6, and the Hadley Invitational at Glenview Golf Course on Sunday, 9/7.
The GMC Championship Tournament at Walden Ponds Golf Club will take place next week on Tuesday, September 9, and Wednesday, September 10. The results of the GMC tournament will determine the league standings for the entire season.

GIRLS' GOLF RECENT UPDATES
The Comet girls competed at the East Invite at Four Bridges on Tuesday, 9/2. Mason's team total was 382, good for 8th place out of 17 teams. The team was led by senior Allie Keim with a score of 90.
Anderson was the overall team champion with a score of 329.

Mason Girls competed at the Beavercreek Invite on Thursday, 9/4. The team finished in fourth place overall out of ten teams! The Comets' leading scorer was senior Ava Dattilo with an 82, good for a fourth-place finish individually!

BOYS SOCCER STAYS UNBEATEN
COMETS SWAMP COLERAIN
Mason Boys Soccer moved to 4-0 on the season (2-0 GMC) on Thursday with an 8-1 win at Colerain. No other details available.
The Comets host Milford on Saturday, 9/6, varsity starting at 7:15 pm.

GIRLS SOCCER SHUTS OUT CARDINALS
Mason Girls Varsity Soccer defeated Colerain 9-0 on Thursday. Cloe Wellington and Ella Krippinkort combined for a shutout. Goals scored by Bella Anderson, Anna Habra (2), Allison Canham, Maylyn Kowalski, McKenna Wellington (PK), Allyvia Chatham, Haley Hommel, and Paiton Smith.
Assisted by Maddy McCaster (2), Allyvia Canham, and Paiton Smith.
Mason (2-1-1, 2-0) will visit Seton on Saturday.
