Catalytic Converter Safety: The theft of catalytic converters is on the rise in the Kansas City metro, and the UMKC campuses are not immune from the trend. It can take less than 90 seconds to cut a converter off a vehicle if the converter is unprotected. There have been three reports of such thefts on the Volker Campus since December.
