  YEAR OF THE GINKGO  
They've rung the bell, signifying their last day of class. They've studied for finals, taking breaks for pizza with President and Mrs. Coleman and late-night breakfast served by faculty and staff. And now the Class of 2023 will wrap up their time on the Hilltop with four BSC signature events:
  THIS WEEK'S EVENTS  
 May 16  Senior Party
6-8 p.m. Tuesday | Alumni Fountain Plaza | The Class of 2023 is invited to celebrate your time at BSC with music, food truck favorites, and beverages. Please RSVP to the email invite for you and your guest ASAP.
 May 18  Baccalaureate Service
10-11 a.m. Thursday | Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook | Participate in a service of faith celebrating the class of 2023. Rev. Brian Erickson '97, an excellent speaker and member of the BSC Board of Trustees, is our speaker this year. Graduating seniors and faculty should arrive by 9:45 a.m. in academic robes. Academic caps are not required.  
 May 18  Capping
3 p.m. Thursday | Bill Battle Coliseum | In this longstanding BSC tradition, seniors will be capped by a family member, professor, mentor, or other meaningful person in their life. No tickets are required. Check-in for seniors and their cappers will take place in the Great Hall in Norton Campus Center between 2:15 and 2:45 p.m. 
 May 19  Commencement
9 a.m. Friday | Bill Battle Coliseum | The Class of 2023 will receive their degrees! Tickets are required for all guests. Seniors should line up in front of the College Theatre at 8 a.m. The Office of Alumni Engagement will host a champagne toast immediately following the ceremony. 
  ANNOUNCEMENTS  
Three Paychecks Coming in June
Because there are five Fridays in June and December 2023, employees who are paid bi-weekly will receive three paychecks in those months. Benefits deductions will not be taken from the third paycheck. Starting in August 2023, all employees who are currently paid monthly will move to the bi-weekly pay schedule, with the first two payments depositing on August 11 and August 25. Be on the lookout for an email with additional details about the payroll schedule change that begins in August. If you have any questions, please contact humanresources@bsc.edu
