On February 21, the GVSU Board of Trustees acted on a handful of items related to GVSU-authorized charter public schools. Action items included:

- Reauthorization of 6 schools
- Approval to authorize 1 new school
- Appointment or reappointment of 42 charter school board members

Continuing Education Scholarship application now open |
Looking to further your expertise as an educator? The GVSU CSO offers financial assistance to educators employed at GVSU-authorized charter schools who wish to pursue a graduate degree or certification.
|
Scholarships can provide up to 80% tuition reimbursement, depending on eligibility. The window to apply for classes in the Spring/Summer semester is open until April 18, 2025.

Showcase your school at Charter Day at the Capitol! |
MAPSA is looking for schools to be featured at the 2025 Charter Day at the Capitol Celebration on May 6, 2025.
Whether it’s a student performance, an inspiring and engaging display, or a creative showcase, this is your moment to highlight what your school community is accomplishing.
Interested schools must submit their proposal by March 14.

College Prep Week 2025 application opens this month |
Current sophomores and juniors in GVSU's charter high schools are once again invited to attend College Prep Week this summer! College Prep Week attendees learn what it is like to a be a Laker while exploring what it takes to succeed in college.
Space is limited, so don't wait to have your students apply!

We're still accepting submissions for this year's Photo Contest, which is an opportunity for educators in GVSU charter schools to win prizes for capturing incredible teaching and learning moments. All submissions are due by April 11, 2025.

We're excited to invite board members and school leaders to our new and improved version of the annual end-of-year receptions (previously known as the Board Receptions)!
This year's events are designed to be more casual and celebratory and will recognize all that GVSU's charter schools accomplished during the school year.
The Grand Rapids event will be on May 5, and the Detroit event on May 6. All RSVPs are due by April 20.
