BASEBALL
BASEBALL ADVANCES OVER WALNUT HILLS
COMETS HOST ST. XAVIER TUESDAY, 5/21

On Thursday, Mason Baseball advanced in the post-season tourney with a 4-2 victory over the Walnut Hills Eagles.

The story of the game was the pitching of Jake Hanley who threw a complete game.  He allowed four hits while striking out 10 and walking two.  The only runs Walnut Hills scored were in the sixth inning with Mason holding a 4-run lead.

The offense was sparked by Alex Koelling who went 2 for 4 on the day with two doubles and three RBI.  The big blow was his base-loaded double in the fourth inning which cleared the bases and gave the Comets a three-run lead, which they added to in the fifth inning.

Next up for the Comets (22-6) is the District Semi-final game against the St Xavier Bombers who beat LaSalle 3-0 to advance.  The game will be played on Tuesday, May 21st at the Mason Varsity Baseball field.

The winner advances to the District Title game on Thursday, May 23rd versus either Beavercreek or Troy.
