MASON ACADEMIC QUIZ CAPTURES GMC TITLE!

The Greater Miami Conference Academic Quiz teams gathered at Hamilton High School last weekend to test their academic skills in a tournament setting with rapid-fire questions and answers. As the regular season champion, the Mason Comets qualified for the Ohio regional tournament. Additionally, the GMC tournament qualifies another team for regionals. The Hamilton High School Athletic Department graciously hosted the event and provided lunch for the AQT participants. The Mason Comets won the tournament, with Lakota West finishing in a close second place. It is only when these young people come together that the true magnitude of AQT's popularity becomes evident.

BOYS' BBALL BEGIN TOURNEY FRIDAY

The Comets will play Princeton at Lakota West in the first round of the Sectional. That game is slated for Friday, 2/21 at 7:30 pm.

GIRLS BBALL ADVANCES TO DISTRICT FINAL

COMETS DEFEAT WESTERN HILLS

Mason Girls Basketball punched their ticket to the next round of the OHSAA playoffs on Wednesday at Fairfield defeating Western Hills 62-10. The Comets completely dominated the action with balanced scoring from almost every player. No other details are available.

Mason (22-1, 16-0) advances to the District Final on Saturday to play Springfield HS (#4 seed) at Fairborn at 2:00 PM. The Comet Girls will seek their 5th consecutive District Championship and 11th overall D1 title.

Saturday's winner advances to the Sweet 16 and will play a Regional Semi-Final matchup against the Northwest 1 winner on Tuesday, 2/25 at Fairborn at 7:00 pm.

BOYS WRESTLING AT SECTIONAL SATURDAY

Mason will compete at the Sectional this coming Saturday back at Middletown.

Qualifiers from Sectionals to District Tournaments: Division I Each sectional will qualify the top four (4) wrestlers in each weight class to the district tournament at Kettering Fairmont Trent Arena on Friday/Saturday, 2/28-3/1

BOYS BOWLING ADVANCES TO DISTRICT

Mason Boys Bowling competed at the Sectional on Tuesday, 2/18. The team did well and was in 4th place almost all day. The Comets standout was Drew Freeman. He was in 6th place overall and will be advancing with his team to the next level of the postseason.

Seven teams advanced to District and the Mason boys will be one of them at Beaver-Vue lanes on Friday, February 28th. Five teams and 5 individuals will qualify for the State Championships on March 7-8.
