BASEBALL
BASEBALL SWEEPS EAST

Mason defeated Lakota East for the second time in as many days, 12-0, on
a cold Friday afternoon.  Andrew Visconti and Caden Scherz paired to
throw a no-hitter over the five innings.  Visconti started and threw
the first four innings, and Scherz came in the fifth to wrap things
up.

The offense opened up the scoring in the top of the second when Cade
Landheer drove in Grant O'Connor to go up 1-0.  The score stayed the
same until the fourth when the Comets plated 6 runs.  The big hit came
from Tyler Groff when he hit a double down the right field line,
scoring two.  Mason put the game away in the top of the 5th when 5
more runs scored.  Tyler Groff had another 2-RBI double.  Sam Davies
also came up big with a double of his own, knocking in a run in the
process.

Mason improves to 6-0 in the GMC (6-1 overall) and will take on Hamilton on Monday, TODAY, April 14th.  The game will be played at Hamilton starting at 5:00

SOFTBALL STAYS UNBEATEN IN GMC!
COMETS DEFEAT WEST & OAK HILLS

Hallie Martin collected three hits in three at-bats as Mason Varsity Comets defeated Lakota West Varsity Firebirds 10-0 on Friday. Martin singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.  Mason Varsity Comets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Martin singled up the middle, Avery Clayton doubled to center field, Alea Hensley walked, and Clayton stole home, each scoring one run.  A single by Martin extended the Mason Varsity Comets' lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Mason Varsity Comets added two runs in the third after Morgan McBrayer doubled to center field.

Alisha Fox opened the game for Mason Varsity Comets. The righty surrendered two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Ava Gilbert started in the circle for Lakota West Varsity Firebirds. The starter gave up four hits and five runs over two innings, striking out three and walking three. Anna Polca threw one inning of zero-run ball for Mason Varsity Comets in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out none and walking one.

Clayton collected two hits for Mason Varsity Comets in two at-bats. Hensley paced Mason Varsity Comets with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Martin stole two bases. Mason Varsity Comets ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game. Mason Varsity Comets turned one double play in the game. Mason Varsity Comets were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Clayton made the most plays with 6.

Alisha Fox struck out 11 batters as the starting pitcher led Mason Varsity Comets past Oak Hills Varsity Highlanders 7-3 on Saturday. Fox surrendered three hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings while walking none. Annabelle Geiser collected four hits in four at-bats in the win. Geiser singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning. Mason Varsity Comets opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.  A steal of home by Geiser extended the Mason Varsity Comets' lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Mason Varsity Comets added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Delaney Radtke singled, scoring two runs, Alyssa Weitz grounded out, scoring one run, and Morgan McBrayer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.  Oak Hills Varsity Highlanders scored three runs in the top of the seventh on a home run to left field by Payton Veneman '26.
Annaliese Szabo '26 began the game for Oak Hills Varsity Highlanders. The starting pitcher gave up nine hits and seven runs (six earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Anna Polca appeared in relief for Mason Varsity Comets.

The Comets (5-0, 2-0) will play Tippecanoe today for their first OTCA match and visit Fairfield on Tuesday, 4/15.

BOYS VB FALLS TO LOVELAND

Mason VB fell at Loveland on Saturday by scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-22. No other details are available yet.

Next, Mason (6-4, 3-1) will visit Holy Cross on Tuesday.

BOYS' TRACK/FIELD WINS PICKERINGTON  INVITE 

Our Varsity B team competed great at the Coaches Classic meet at CHCA on Thursday. Our Varsity A team competed Saturday morning at Pickerington North in one of the best meets in the state. Many of the fastest times in the state were recorded at this meet. Both the Varsity boys and girls team won the invite and were crowned combined champions! Go Comets


Next for Mason Track is the Centerville Relays on Friday, 4/18.

BOYS LACROSSE
BOYS' LAX STAYS UNDEFEATED!

Mason rolled to a commanding 16-7 victory over Lakota West last Friday behind a balanced scoring attack that featured Eli Natorp with 4 goals—one of which marked his 100th career goal. The Comets also saw multi-goal performances from Jeffrey Pitcher, Jacob Lupinski, Tyler Lupinski, and Aiden Nyhuis. Additional goals came from Peter Marietta, Finn Albers, Keegan Synan, and Quinn Riley, showcasing Mason’s offensive depth.

In a hard-fought battle against Hudson, the Comets emerged with a gritty 11-10 win. Eli Natorp led the way with 3 goals and 1 assist, while Peter Marietta contributed 3 goals and Quinn Riley added 2. Jacob Lupinski, Tyler Lupinski, and Jacob Anderson each chipped in a goal to round out the scoring. The Comet LSMs Chase Gettys (4) and Gus Kleeman (2) combined for a total of 6 critical caused turnovers (CTOs), helping to disrupt Hudson’s offensive rhythm. A clutch fourth-quarter save by goalie Chase Harpold proved to be the turning point, swinging momentum in Mason’s favor and helping to secure the victory. 

The Comets look to continue their winning streak (7-0) as they travel to face Sycamore on Tuesday night.

GIRLS LACROSSE
GIRLS' LAX SUFFERS LOSS AT INDIAN HILL

Mason Girls LAX fell at Indian Hill on Saturday by a score of 20-9. Kirsten Hurr had 5 goals, 1 assist, and 12 draw control wins. Elle Riva had 2 goals and 1 assist, Anneliese Jarrell had 1 goal and 1 assist, Maggie Schumm had 2 assists, and Addie Lupinski had 1 goal.

Next up, Mason (4-4, 3-2) will host Sycamore on Tuesday, 4/15.
