Mason Athletics will host a Spring College Signing Event TODAY, Wednesday, May 7th, at 2:45 pm sharp in the Harvard Room.  See the list of signees who will be recognized below.

BASEBALL SWEEPS MIDDIES
COMETS SEEK GMC TITLE TODAY

Mason and Middletown completed their suspended game on Monday with the Comets run-ruling the Middies 12-2. 

Sam Davies collected three hits in four at-bats. Davies singled in the first inning, in the fourth inning, and in the fifth inning.

Middletown Varsity Middies were the first to get on the board in the first inning when Brayden Watkins singled, scoring one run.

Mason Varsity Comets took the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Davies and Hutch Crociata.

Mason Varsity Comets added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Crociata hit a sacrifice fly, Grant O'Connor hit a sacrifice fly, and Drew Johnson singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Jaden Bakhit earned the win for the Mason Varsity Comets. The starter gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Robiel Araujo took the loss for Middletown Varsity Middies. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking four. Liam Sander and Ollie Stuart each came on in relief for Mason Varsity Comets and shut down Middletown Varsity Middies.

Mason Varsity Comets amassed 11 hits in the game. Chase Cox and Davies each collected three hits for the Mason Varsity Comets. Crociata went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Sander collected two hits for the Mason Varsity Comets in two at-bats. Mason Varsity Comets had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Sander and JJ Darst led the team with two walks each. Davies and Darst each stole multiple bases for the Mason Varsity Comets. Mason Varsity Comets ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 12 stolen bases for the game.

Elvis Sanchez, Julio Perez, Justin Rickard, Watkins, and Araujo each collected one hit for Middletown Varsity Middies. Watkins went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one batted-in run.

In the nightcap, Andrew Visconti was dominant on the mound, as the left-handed pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in the Comets' 7-0 victory over Middletown. Visconti surrendered one hit and zero runs over six innings while walking four.

Mason Varsity Comets won thanks in part to seven runs in the seventh inning. An error scored two runs, Cade Landheer singled, scoring two runs, Sam Davies hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Chase Cox scored one run, and Hutch Crociata scored one run.

Landon Bailey took the loss for Middletown Varsity Middies. The pitcher went six and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking four. Ollie Stuart pitched one inning of zero-run ball for the Mason Varsity Comets in relief. The hurler gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking one.

Mason Varsity Comets tallied nine hits in the game. Cox led the Mason Varsity Comets with three hits in four at-bats. Landheer and JT Vaughn each drove in two runs for the Mason Varsity Comets. Crociata collected two hits for the Mason Varsity Comets in three at-bats. Mason Varsity Comets ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game. Mason Varsity Comets didn't commit a single error in the field. JJ Darst had the most chances in the field with 14.

Ethan Applegate went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Middletown Varsity Middies in hits. Middletown Varsity Middies turned one double play in the game.

Mason plays at home TODAY, Wednesday, 5/7 against Sycamore. The Comets can secure the 2025 GMC Baseball title with a win over the Aviators.

SOFTBALL
SOFTBALL SLAPS THE VIKINGS

Mason Softball took another step towards a GMC title on Monday with a 10-0 run-rule of visiting Princeton. Alisha Fox no-hit the Vikings with 12 strikeouts. Alea Hensley led the offense, going 3-3 with 2 RBI. 

The Comets (20-2, 14-0) stay undefeated in the GMC and go on the road TODAY, Wednesday, 5/7 to play Colerain. On Thursday, Mason will visit East for an earlier-season makeup game. 

Mason Softball has earned the #1 seed in the upcoming Sectional/District and will host Middletown on Monday, 5/19, for a 1st round game.

BOYS VB DEFEATS ANDERSON

Mason VB defeated Anderson on senior night on Tuesday. Final scores were 25-11, 25-19, 25-18. Waiting on further details.

TRACK/FIELD HOSTS MASON INVITE FRIDAY

Mason Track and Field competed at the CHCA Eagle Invite on Monday and the Anderson Game of Throws on Tuesday. Waiting on details.

Next for Track and Field is the annual Mason Invite on Friday, May 9th at the Comet Stadium. This annual event draws some of the top athletes from around the area.

BOYS LACROSSE
BOYS' LAX WINS OVER WEST!

Mason Boys Lacrosse defeated Lakota West 14-6 on Monday. No details available yet.

The Comets (13-3, 9-0) can claim an outright GMC title on Thursday when they host the Sycamore Aviators. The Aves will be looking for a win to share the 2025 Championship with the Comets. Thursday is the regular season finale.

GIRLS LACROSSE
GIRLS' LAX WINS OVER WEST!

Before a fantastic Youth Night crowd last night, the Mason Girls LAX avenged an earlier season loss to Lakota West, winning 12-9. Kirsten Hurr led the team with 6 goals, an assist, and 7 ground balls. She scored her career 100th goal and 100th draw control win for the season in the 3rd quarter, both incredible milestones! Elle Riva had a hat trick, and Maggie Schumm added a goal and 3 assists. 

The defense played its best game of the season with strong performances from Mia Ghiloni, Lauren Billhorn, Jenna Beebe, and Kristeen Rafey. Gabby Sell played a key role, grabbing 6 draw control wins. A great team effort!

The Comets (8-7, 7-4) will visit Sycamore on Thursday, 5/8.
