MASON GIRLS’ TRACK & FIELD EARNS STATE PODIUM FINISH, WINS RELAY TITLE
Comets place 3rd in Division I Championship; boys team posts standout performances
COLUMBUS, OH — The Mason Girls’ Track & Field team capped off a stellar 2025 campaign with an impressive 3rd place overall finish at the OHSAA Division I State Championship this past weekend at The Ohio State University. The Comets were powered by a series of strong individual and relay efforts, highlighted by a state title in the 4x400 relay and a runner-up finish in the shot put.
The girls advanced multiple athletes through Friday’s prelims and delivered a string of finals performances that showcased both talent and determination. The weekend was headlined by:
STATE CHAMPIONS – Girls 4x400 Relay:
Tori Killens, Parker Evans, Atalia Hawkins, and Elizabeth Resig brought the crowd to its feet Saturday evening, capturing gold in a dramatic, school-record-setting victory.
STATE RUNNER-UP – Girls Shot Put:
Senior standout Austin White improved on her 3rd-place finish from 2024, launching her way to a silver medal and second-best mark in Ohio.
3rd Place – Girls 100m & 200m Dashes:
Speedster Azarae Hawkins earned bronze in both sprint events, securing crucial points for the Comets.
