Campus Community:
With several positive COVID tests on campus, and rising case numbers in the surrounding community, we want to remind everyone that COVID is still present both on and off campus.
- If you experience COVID symptoms, you should test in Health Services on campus or at an off-campus clinic. Avoid contact with others until you test.
- In the event of a positive test, notify Health Services through email (healthservices@bsc.edu) or by phone (205-226-4717). COVID-positive individuals should isolate in place for five days or until all symptoms are gone.
- You should continue to mask an additional five days after the end of your isolation.
- Health Services will notify faculty of a student's absence from classes. However, it's the student's responsibility to communicate with their professor and stay current on assignments.
- Health Services will notify supervisors when a faculty or staff member is expected to remain away from work.
- Health Services will clear COVID-positive individuals to return to class and work, either in person or via an online appointment.
- Asymptomatic exposed individuals should wear a mask for 5-10 days. If symptoms occur, get tested immediately and report a positive test as indicated above.
Thank you for doing your part to maintain our general campus health as we begin a new year.
