Hello, Writer!
Many of us have heeded the advice 'write what you know.' But what about this quote by Miles Davis? "Man, you don't play what you know, you play what you hear." This week during the second half of Friday 500 we'll explore Miles' aphoristic approach to art with the help of another talented musician and fellow Friday 500er Brett Randell. Brett has come up with a set list of four songs sure to get our pens jivving with the page. We'll listen, we'll write with some guided prompts in mind, and then share.
As always, you can participate at Friday 500 by writing for the entire two hours, and paying zero mind to anything else.
