» Cowboys & Engines: Look! Up in the sky! It's a Brad! It's a plane! It's both! Disney's upcoming animated offering Planes: Fire & Rescue features Brad Paisley in a cameo voice roll and contributing the film's final song. According to USA Today, "All In" is a tribute to firefighter bravery, and is particularly poignant for Paisley as he has a couple in the family. "When [the producer] pitched the idea, he said it was a way of paying tribute to my dad," Paisley says. "My brother-in-law is also a firefighter in Tennessee. These guys run toward the problem that everyone else is fleeing from." More, including a clip of the movie, here. |
» Easy Being Green: There's something inside Lee Brice trying to get out ... is it new music or a superhero? Could be a little of both. Discussing his upcoming album I Don't Dance, he tells us, "It's all the music I had inside of me trying to get out. I played a lot of the instruments including 90% of the guitar, so it might not be the crazy playing of the best guitar players in Nashville, but it's me. It's just more personal." The other thing he's trying to get out is a bit more ... colorful. "I went down to Clemson last weekend, where I played football in college, for a golf tournament," he says. "After dinner, we were on the course getting ready for the next morning and decided to hit some balls. I took my shoes off and was walking around barefoot, but I guess they dye the grass. My feet look like the Incredible Hulk – I can't it off the bottom of my feet." I Don't Dance will be available Sept. 9, although the title track is available now. More here. |
» Hunks Of Burning Love: It seems Miranda Lambert and Priscilla Presley have a lot in common, at least according to Lambert's new album Platinum. The song “Priscilla” finds her commiserating Presley over the challenges of being “married to a man who's married to attention.” She sings, “It’s a difficult thing being Queen to the King and I feel ya." On Monday (6/9), Miranda tweeted, “I never thought I would actually hear from the Queen herself,” posting an Instagram of Presley and Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, listening to the song on a laptop. “Love it!” Presley wrote. “Best of luck with your new album.” |
» Mix And Match: Colt Ford has partnered with cloud-based remix platform Indiloop for the "Crank It Up" Remix Contest. Fans are encouraged to make their own mixes of the song, which is on his forthcoming album Thanks For Listening, which drops July 1. "The song isn't even out yet, but I want to hear what my fans think it should sound like first," says Ford. "Who knows, they might make it better than I did!" Prizes include VIP concert tickets and an iPad Mini loaded with Ford's music and the Indiloop app. More here. |
» Benefit News: Tuesday's (6/3) Country Weekly Kickoff Party Powered By Nash raised $17,000 for Musicians On Call. MOC fundraising efforts continue through July with the Summer Of Music online auction. Bid on concert ticket packages, meet-and-greet experiences and memorabilia here.
