THREE NEW VIRTUAL CARCINOID SYNDROME PROGRAMS FOR THE NET COMMUNITY

Are you newly diagnosed with carcinoid syndrome or have been living with the syndrome for many years? The neuroendocrine tumor (NET) community is invited to participate in three new, virtual carcinoid syndrome programs in December. The programs are made possible by Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Inc.

There will be a Carcinoid Cancer Foundation Facebook Live program on Monday, December 14th featuring NET expert Lowell Anthony, MD, FACP, Chief of the Division of Medical Oncology at the UK Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Kentucky, and NET patient Melanie Bean. This special live program offers viewers the opportunity to ask questions of Dr. Anthony and Ms. Bean and will cover living with carcinoid syndrome and how to manage breakthrough symptoms. If you can’t attend the live program, it will be available at your convenience on CCF’s Facebook page and on CCF’s YouTube channel.

Living Well with Metastatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
Educational Webinars with NET Experts

Two virtual education sessions, Finding Your Independence, will feature NET expert physicians on Tuesday, December 8 and Wednesday, December 9. The informational sessions will focus on the unique aspects associated with living well with metastatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), including strategies and options to help minimize the impact of living with NETs.

On Tuesday, December 8th, Eric Liu, MD, FACS of the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Denver, Colorado, and Michael Morse, MD, FACP, MHS of Duke Cancer Center in Durham, North Carolina, will be the guest presenters and on Wednesday, December 9th, Lowell Anthony, MD, FACP of UK Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Kentucky, and Jonathan Strosberg, MD of the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida will be the guest presenters. Both educational webinars will focus on the full range of living well with metastatic neuroendocrine tumors including strategies and options for patients to minimize the impact of the disease.
NET Effects Video Commemorates Worldwide NET Awareness Month
Also new is a video created with sponsorship by Sun Pharma to commemorate Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness Month in November and Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day on November 10.  The NET Effects video presents insights, perspectives and experiences shared by NET expert physicians, advocates, patients and caregivers.  Watch the video here and please share with all committed to NET education, advocacy, research, treatment advances and care!
