Recently featured as
Spotlight Country's "Spot On" artist, Courtney Rau got her start in music at a very early age singing and performing for family and friends and taking the requisite piano and guitar lessons to mold her into the artist she is today. As an eighth grader, Rau showed such a propensity for writing and singing that her parents brought her to Nashville to pursue her dream, and she began writing songs with writers like
Jamie O’Neal, Keith and
Adrian Follese, Jim Cooper, and
Tommy Collier.
Upon meeting with renowned producer
Joe Vulpis, best known for launching the career of
Lady GaGa, the young newcomer’s sound came full circle as they collaborated on a collection of songs including her country radio debut, “Click.” Sprinkled with a youthful energy, Rau has created her own sound of contemporary country, mixed with a little bit of pop and rock undertones.
