Since the beginning, members have gathered to show appreciation for the founding members of the Club; the first families to invest in the Spruce Peak Community.  Gather with fellow members for a great time while still recognizing the founders’ achievements.

This event provides an exclusive opportunity to enjoy a private ski experience with some of the best in the sport.  Spend the morning on the slopes with famed athletes and top instructors from the Stowe Ski School granting you front of line access on the lift.  This experience is unlike another other – time on the mountain with top athletes, testing your skills through the gates, and receiving invaluable tips on improving your technique to bring your skiing to the next level.

Join a Team with an Olympian or Pro Captain! 

We are thrilled to welcome back former Olympians Diann Roffe and Donna Weinbrecht.  Diann, Donna, and former American alpine ski racer Tim Kelley will be a few of our team captains at this year’s event.  Round up your fellow Members, invite some guests, create a team, and have some fun! 

Recruit a Team and Bring Your Own (BYO) Captain! 

We also recognize that many of you have ties to ski coaches near and far and we would love to have you bring them to this special event and captain your team.  A (BYO) captain can be anyone of your choosing:  your child’s coach, a favorite ski instructor, or someone you think would be a fun leader for your team.  If you choose this option, you will be responsible for your team (of 7) and all Captains will be hosted by the Club.  Email Dan Ruane if you would like additional information on this process. 

The Founders Cup is not about the competition as much as the camaraderie; everyone wins when Club members and athletes alike gather in the Alpine Clubhouse to enjoy amazing hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, music, awards, silent auction items, and more! 

We’ve had some amazing Founders Cup benefit concerts over the years – from Stefan Lessard of Dave Matthews Band, members of Guster, and DJ Logic to O.A.R. and Noah Kahan!  This year is no different and we’re thrilled to announce crazy talented musician Cory Wong as this year’s headline and the powerful, all female folk/pop band Trousdale as special guest.  Cory and his band are one of the best funk/fushion bands out there right now.  His expert playing and diverse influences have kept him in demand around the world and around the clock, and there’s no doubt that this concert will be one for books! Check out Cory Wong “Golden” (feat Trousdale) live at the Palace Theater.  

It’s no coincidence that The Founders Cup is the biggest fundraiser for Spruce Peak Arts.  The Club and the performing arts center were tied together from the beginning, as it was the contributions from the founding members of the Club that led to the creation of the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center.   Monies raised from this event support the arts center – including its educational fund, which enables children from around the region to experience world-class programming at Spruce Peak.  Throughout the weekend there will be multiple ways to support Spruce Peak Arts:  joining or creating a ski team, bidding on (amazing) silent auction items, buying a concert ticket (or 10), and more.  We appreciate your support!

CORY WONG (corywongmusic.com)

Recognized for his high-speed improvisational skills, fun-loving performance spirit, and a flexible right wrist, guitarist Cory Wong had a multifaceted music career in his base of Minneapolis, Minnesota, before becoming better known for regular guest spots as rhythm guitarist for Ann Arbor R&B/funk outfit Vulfpeck in the mid-2010s. Often incorporating intricate, percussive picking into his rhythm playing, his style merges acoustic and electric techniques gleaned from years invested in both.

He picked up a Grammy nomination for his 2020 collaboration with Jon Batiste, Meditations, and returned in 2021 with another collaboration, Golden Hour, with saxophonist Dave Koz. He then joined forces with a bevy of guest artists -- including Chromeo, Victor Wooten, and Béla Fleck -- on the '80s funk- and pop-inspired Power Station.

Trousdale (trousdalemusic.com)

Trousdale is a powerful female band consisting of Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene, and Lauren Jones. Their melodic and heartfelt harmonies are often compared to The Chicks and The Staves, but the girls draw inspiration from a wide array of music, including Crosby Stills and Nash, Kacey Musgraves and HAIM. Driven by their passion to empower young women, Trousdale is committed to making quality music that spreads a message of self-acceptance and love.
