Tutor with Ignite is a paid, virtual tutoring opportunity for students who want hands-on experience in education—without overloading their schedule. As a Teach For America Ignite Fellow, you’ll work online with a small group of students while building leadership skills and making a real impact. Fellows tutor 2–3 students for 3–5 hours per week over a 14-week term, earning a $800–$1,200 award in the fall and $1,000–$1,400 in the spring. You’ll receive training, ongoing support, and insight into today’s education system while helping students grow academically and fostering a sense of connection. Learn more about Ignite. TRIO Student Support Services Program: Calling all Education majors - this is for YOU! The TRIO Student Support Services–Teacher Preparation Program is a federally funded initiative designed to help students succeed in college and prepare for careers in K–12 education. Participants receive benefits such as priority scheduling, academic advising, free tutoring, peer mentoring, PRAXIS preparation, and dedicated study space. The program is intended for first-generation college students, students with financial need, or students who work with LSU’s Office of Disability Services. Students interested in strengthening their path to becoming an educator are encouraged to apply.

April 18 Training Session - Paid tutoring positions: LSU Tiger Teacher Corps has exciting opportunities for students in teacher preparation programs to complete professional tutoring training, delivered by the LSU Center for Academic Success (CAS), where you will earn official tutoring credentials and apply your skills in real classrooms supporting local middle and high school students. Once you complete your training, you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience, strengthen your resume with verified credentials, and have a paid opportunity to make an impact. Louisiana Aspiring Educator Summer Academy (Coach recruitment): Louisiana State University will host 100 high school students enrolled in the Louisiana Pre-Educator Pathway for the Louisiana Aspiring Educator Summer Academy from July 13-17, 2026. The academy staff will be composed of up to 30 exceptional individuals representing different parts of the Louisiana educator pipeline – including collegiate student leaders enrolled in education who will lead and serve as Coaches to smaller cohorts of academy participants.
