Chancellor Daniel Little received the Trailblazer Award from the Western Wayne County NAACP Branch for the campus' commitment to inclusion and diversity. Branch President Bishop Walter Starghill Jr. presented the award Tuesday at the Commitment to Inclusion Alumni Reception, which brought together alumni and community leaders to discuss the university's work.
Tony England has been named dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. He has served as interim dean since May 2011, during which time he has emphasized renewing the college’s classroom and teaching laboratories, strengthening its research programs and organizing a more effective K-12 outreach program.
Kate Davy has been reappointed provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. Since joining UM-Dearborn in 2009 Davy has been instrumental in a number of initiatives including Vision 2020, the collaborative academic planning process that helped identify and pursue university priorities.

Lance Karas isn't your typical college student. At 29, he's older than many of his classmates, and he served two tours in Iraq while active-duty in the Marines. Four years ago he made the transition from active-duty military to civilian—a transition that's not always easy.
