Meet the Martians with Writer Gloria McMillan

Saturday, March 15, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., Special Collections

Join us as Gloria McMillan, local educator, author and guest curator of Special Collections current exhibition Mars Madness, signs copies of her edited work Orbiting Ray Bradbury’s Mars: Biographical, Anthropological, Literary, Scientific and Other Perspectives. The event will also feature a performance art component where guests are encouraged to meet and interact with visiting Martians.

The Art & Business of Writing: An Intensive Workshop with J. A. Jance
Register today for a two-week intensive workshop taught by J.A. Jance, New York Times bestselling author of the Joanna Brady and J.P. Beaumont series. Designed for post-graduate and professional-level students and writers interested in taking their work to the next level, this course will include lecture and discussion and will focus on both the creative and business dimensions of writing.

Women Writing Mystery Lecture Series: A Conversation with Jacqueline Winspear, Interviewed by Jennifer Lee Carrell

Special Collections holds its fourth annual Women Writing Mystery Lecture Series program featuring Jacqueline Winspear, author of the award-winning ‘Maisie Dobbs’ series of books which explore the aftermath of World War I.

This exciting lecture program, held each year at the Tucson Festival of Books, highlights the Women Mystery Writers Collection housed in Special Collections. The collection has a primary emphasis on Southwestern women
mystery authors and includes mystery novels published from the 1950s to present written by female authors who
primarily portray female protagonists.
