URBAN FORESTRY
Tree Inventory Update
30,000 trees. 8 neighborhoods.
We need you!
This summer PP&R Urban Forestry will partner with neighborhood tree teams to complete street tree inventories in eight communities! This is a monumental undertaking and we need many volunteers to help us collect and process data on an estimated 30,000 street trees. Volunteers are needed in the following roles: team leaders, data collectors, data entry, arborists, and tree team members.
2014 inventory neighborhoods include Boise-Eliot, Cully, Foster-Powell, Kerns, Laurelhurst, South Tabor, Sullivan's Gulch, and West Portland Park.

If you live in an inventory neighborhood, join your community’s Tree Team
For residents of Boise-Eliot, Cully, Foster-Powell, Kerns, Laurelhurst, South Tabor, Sullivan's Gulch, and West Portland Park
In addition to collecting tree data, Tree Teams in each neighborhood are responsible for securing locations, advertising, and recruiting volunteers. After inventories are complete, they will work with their communities to create neighborhood tree plans to steward the neighborhood’s tree canopy. If you live in one of the neighborhoods and are looking for a long term commitment to improve your neighborhood’s urban forest, joining the Tree Team may be for you.
