Dear Loyola,
We have never had a year when it was more important to come together in community and pray, and breathe, and sing. I invite you to join us at the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Tuesday, September 28, at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church. We have much to celebrate and mourn together.
For those new to our community, know that this Mass represents something very special, that connects us to rituals and traditions of Jesuit universities around the world. For five centuries, Jesuit schools have begun their academic year with this celebration, to root us in our mission and to pray for the year ahead. During the Mass, there will be no classes and offices will close.
This year, we will pray in gratitude for the unexpected strength we have each discovered. We will pray for the loved ones we have lost to Covid, and also for our beloved Coach Rickey. Please submit the names here of any beloved deceased you would like remembered at the Mass.
I can’t wait to see all of your faces, even if we must still be masked.
Prayers and blessings,
Tania Tetlow
President
