Sessions are one-on-one meetings and personalized to the student's particular needs. OWLS also offers general study skills tutoring for students wanting to develop better and more effective study habits. In-person sessions are held on campus in the OWLS center during the day, while virtual appointments are available in the evenings to accommodate students with busy daytime schedules. If you're in the New Orleans area on March 22, Loyola will have a tent at YLC Wednesday at the Square. Anyone who makes a gift of $10 or more on Loyola Loyal Day will have exclusive access to the university's tent to visit with other members of the Wolf Pack and enjoy free beer and refreshments.

An Advocate is someone who supports Loyola Loyal Day in different ways - leading with a gift, sharing on social networks, and encouraging others to give. Advocates are highlighted on the giving day's campaign page, along with data on the impact of their efforts. We'll have prizes and swag for our top advocates! If you'd like to learn more, please contact Director of Annual Giving Garrett Lacour at 504-861-5568 or gmlacour@loyno.edu.

March Spiritual Reflection Every month, we share a reflection from Interim Vice President for Mission and Identity Tom Ryan, Ph.D.
Counterintuitively, Lent is about freedom.
I got this idea from an Ash Wednesday sermon that made the case that Lent is an intensification of everyday faith life, which is fundamentally about growing in freedom.
Loyola’s first Lenten presentation addressed the theme of Ignatian freedom. The speaker, Becky Eldredge, made the case that freedom involves freedom from constraint. But on its own, that’s a thin understanding. A fuller understanding includes the freedom to (love ourselves, God, neighbor, and creation) and the freedom to do so for (the other).
These remaining weeks of Lent offer us the opportunity to pray for the gift of growing in this rich understanding of freedom and to undertake practices that strengthen our commitment to this fuller sense of freedom.
Lent leads to Easter, and the gospel reading on the Second Sunday of Easter on April 16 depicts Jesus’ followers cowering behind locked doors. The first words of the resurrected Jesus to his fearful followers are so important that he utters them twice, “Peace be with you.”
May this season of Lent prepare us in some way to really experience Easter peace that liberates us from fears and worries and that sets us free to love ourselves, God, neighbor, and creation and, therefore, to be there for them.
