You Gave Back
Because of the generous support of people like you we were able to raise a total of $41,520 though The Big Payback. While we did not meet our goal of $50,000 we are still blessed by the generosity of our donors. Your gifts will go a long way to lifting those in need to a place of stability and independence.
A Week of Celebration
Thank you for those of you that celebrated with us as we commemorated our wonderful relationship with the city of Nashville for the past 124 years. It is because of fine citizens like you that we are able to accomplish all that we do. Hundreds of you came out to events throughout the week and over $70,000 was raised! Your selfless and consistent support continues to enable us to achieve the best work possible as weprovide soup, soap and salvation to all those who come through our doors.
On behalf of those we serve, the Center of Hope staff thanks you!
Red Shield Kids Club Summer Day Camp
Day Camp is offered to as many as 80 children during the months of June and July. Children have the opportunity to participate in activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor sports and games, dance and life skills learning classes. Each summer the Nashville Salvation Army also sends kids to Camp Paradise Valley in Kentucky for a one-week overnight experience full of fun activities, Christian fellowship and learning.
Thank God for The Salvation Army
“I moved to Nashville in January 2014 due to a storm blowing the roof off my house. I couldn’t live there anymore so I moved to Nashville with the hope of finding employment and new place to stay. I ran into hard times because the hotels took all of my money. I had no place to stay and no job. In February I came to The Salvation Army and they accepted me into their transitional housing program which made it possible for me to look for work. Then I went to Magness-Potter Community Center where I met Ms. Brittany Jewett who helped me with my resume. The resume was very impressive and it landed me with a very good job at Dell Computers. This job has made it possible for me to move into my own place. Thanks to God and The Salvation Army!”
