.BARN CATS
Do you have rodents and other varmints in your barn, shed or garage? Would you like a non toxic way to get rid of them? Announcing......ADOPT A CAT! We have several fully vetted, healthy but not very social cats that will make great "barn cats".  They aren't feral, just not real interested in people and that's why they haven't been adopted. We need all the room we can get as kitten season is fast approaching. Their adoption fee has been waived!
ANTIQUE BOAT SHOW
We will once again be in attendance at the annual antique boat show in Apalachicola on Saturday, April 16th.  Our adoption tent will be set up close to the fountain at Waterside park.
Spring is in full swing and we will have many puppies and kittens to choose from and as always, perfectly wonderful adult dogs and cats to adopt.
Be sure to mark your calendars for April 16th.  See you there!
.CAT ROOM MAKE-OVER
College students spending spring break on SGI came to the shelter to paint the newly installed cat climbing shelves and kennel support brackets.  What a difference a coat of paint makes!  The cat room is much brighter and the cats are loving their newly made-over room.
Later that same week, Michael Fish, David Raffield and Jennifer Page of M&J Maintenance and Remodeling (850-323-0229) volunteered their time and carpentry skills to build an outdoor cat porch. The porch allows the cats to spend time outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. What a wonderful addition to the cat room and the cats love it!
Huge thank you to all of the students and supervisors who spent some of their spring break brightening up the lives of our cats and kittens.  Thanks to Michael, David and Jennifer for the fantastic new porch and thanks to Glynda Ratliff and Judy Schultz for donating the funds to make it happen!
.CARRABELLE RIVERFRONT FESTIVAL
Its just about that time of year again.  On Saturday, April 23 we will be participating in the annual Carrabelle Riverfront Festival.  We will have pets available for adoption, merchandise for sale and information about the Humane Society available.
In addition to the adoption tent, we will be participating in the Pet Contest. This contest is an opportunity for you to showcase your pet and all, or none, of it's talents.  The talent contest is always a hit at the festival and we love to see just how creative you can be.
So dress up yourself and your pooch and join us for the pet contest.  All proceeds to Franklin County Humane Society.

The Brewfest is to be held on Saturday, April 30th at Paddy's Raw Bar and Journeys of SGI.  More than 30 breweries will be represented and each with 2-3 taps.  That's a lot of taste testing!  There will also be food and live music to enjoy while you sample your way through the afternoon.
We encourage you to share this newsletter with family and friends who may want to join in the fun.  Remember, all proceeds benefit the Franklin County Humane Society!
