Election Deadline Tuesday

The deadline for voting in the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District (KCRMD) Bond Issue 5A and Board of Directors election is Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. All ballots must be received by the deadline in order to be counted. It is now too late to mail your ballot, so please bring it to the Ranch House and place it in the locked ballot box to ensure your vote is counted. The Ranch House will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Tuesday for ballot drop-off. Election results should be posted at www.ken-carylranch.org by late Tuesday night or early Wednesday.

"Not Just Electronics" Recycling Event

Get rid of your unwanted electronics, appliances, televisions, large trash items, scrap metal, paperwork, yard waste, latex paints, household items and tires from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 in the Ranch House parking lot. We can only accept items at the event, so please DO NOT drop off items for recycling at the Ranch House before or after the event. Many items will be recycled for free, but there are fees (cash only) associated with latex paints, tires, CRT computer monitors and televisions. See the Recycling Event Article for a list of items that can and can't be recycled, along with the fee, if any. If you have any questions, please contact Chris Pacetti at chrisp@kcranch.org or 303-979-1876, ext. 116.

Celebrating 100 Years of Ken-Caryl Ranch

What we know today as Ken-Caryl Ranch began on Oct. 17, 1914, with the purchase of 2,660 acres of land southwest of Denver by John Charles Shaffer. To recognize and commemorate 100 years of Ken-Caryl Ranch, the Historical Society is hosting a celebration called KCR100 on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Manor House. The whole community is invited, and details will be available later this summer. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the event. If you are interested, please contact Jeff Allison at jeff.allison@comcast.net or 303-972-0096.

Contractor Reference Database

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association maintains a Contractor Reference Database on our website as well as hard copies of the references in Contractor Reference Books available for review at the Ranch House. These references were submitted by residents for a wide variety of contractors. If you are having work done on your home, we encourage you to browse the database. Once the work is completed, you can submit a reference using the Online Form or through a Paper Form. This database was created in an effort to assist homeowners who wish to hire professionals to make improvements or repairs to their property. The database continues to grow, so check back periodically for more submissions.

Volunteers Needed to Help Build the New Community Park Playground May 31

The new Community Park Playground, across the street from Shaffer Elementary, will be installed on Saturday, May 31, and we need more volunteers to help! Community volunteers will do most of the installation, supervised by employees of the playground equipment manufacturer. The Community Build is a great event for the whole family. There are multiple shifts available for several age groups as well as fun activities planned throughout the day. Community Park will be closed May 19 through June 15 for tear-down, preparation, building and inspection. For more information and to sign up, see our Special Events page.
