The anticipation is palpable in the LRF barn right now. This month will find three LRF horses running in stakes races and we hope to kick off summer with a bang! On June 28th, LRF's Chilean Group I winner, SALTO DEL INDIO (CHI) will take to California's biggest stage and take on some of the best horses in the land when he makes his stateside deubt in the GI $500,000 Santa Anita Gold Cup. "He's been training lights out, " said Salto trainer Mike Puype. "Many times when you bring a horse over from a another country, there is generally an adjustment period. Not with Salto. Chati's on Top will return to Golden Gate Fields, site of her impressive maiden win, on June 8th to run in the $100,000 Campanile Stakes. Fresh off an impressive second place performance in an allowance race at Santa Anita against older fillies and mares (VIDEO), Chati is poised to tackle some of California's best three-year-old turf fillies. "When we purchased Chati privately, these were exactly the races we were hoping she'd participate in," said LRF Managing Partner Billy Koch. "I know Chati's partners are very excited to make the trip up North and see what she can do around two turns." |

Trainer Barry Abrams has done it again! Fresh off a two race winning streak (VIDEO) and a close fourth place finish against open allowance company, Heat Flash will be entered to run in the $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes this Sunday, June 8th at Santa Anita. The Crystal Water, for older male CA bred turf horses will certainly be Flash's biggest test yet... but we think he's up for the challenge. In 12 lifetime starts, Flash has two wins and $138,600 in career earnings. Abrams has now trained six horses for LRF with five of the six earning at least $100,000, including Hot N' Dusty. |
