Don't Forget To Vote!

All registered voters in the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District (KCRMD) should receive their mail ballots for the May 6 election no later than today. To be counted, a mail ballot must be returned to the Ranch House or the Designated Election Official no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6. A mail ballot received after that date and time cannot be counted, even if it was mailed by May 6. Eligible KCRMD electors will vote for three individuals (see MD Board Candidate Profiles) to serve on the KCRMD Board of Directors as well as vote on Bond Ballot Issue 5A authorizing the KCRMD to issue up to $7.9 million in municipal bonds for capital improvements to the community.

More Information Added to Bond Election Information Page

To further refine details regarding Bond Ballot Issue 5A, more information has been added to the Bond Election Information page, including Clarifying Points related to dues, taxes and Community Center ownership and an FAQ Document to answer some of your questions.

Questions About New Ranch House Playground Design

The new Ranch House playground is now open! We want to make sure everyone understands the design. The playground is designed for children ages 5-12 years old with opportunities for children ages 2-5 years old. This is the same as the old playground that was replaced. While the equipment is different, there are elements that were added by our contractor specifically to provide opportunities for younger children. The pup-tent climber, ground level balance elements and small slide are designed as opportunities for children ages 2-5 years. Swings will be installed in the next few weeks. We also want to remind everyone that the new playground that will be installed at Community Park across from Shaffer Elementary provided us more space to plan for more age groups. There will be an entire play area in the playground at Community Park with swings and a structure rated specifically for 2-5 year olds. See the Community Park Playground Design for details.

"Not Just Electronics" Recycling Event: Latex Paint Added This Year

Get rid of your unwanted electronics, appliances, televisions, large trash items, scrap metal, paperwork, yard waste, latex paints, household items and tires from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, in the Ranch House parking lot. Many items will be recycled for free, but there are fees associated with latex paints, tires, CRT computer monitors and televisions. See the Recycling Event Article for a list of items that can and can't be recycled, along with the fee, if any. Please bring cash to recycle any items that require a fee. Prescription medication will not be accepted at this event. If you need to dispose of prescription medication, you can do so at the Jeffco Sheriff's Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Dakota Ridge High School.

Volunteer Needed for Covenant Control Committee

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association is looking for one additional volunteer for the Covenant Control Committee, which was established to uphold the governing documents of the Master Association and to ensure enforcement in a fair and timely manner. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Ranch House. If you are interested in applying, please download a Committee Application and return it to victoriad@kcranch.org

Ranch House Story Time Ends April 25

The Friday story time at the Ranch House will end April 25. This weekly activity, which is done through a partnership with the Jefferson County Public Library, will be offered again in the fall. Come on out to the Ranch House on Friday, April 25 at 10:15 a.m. to join in this season’s final story time. There will be stories, finger plays and an introduction to letter sounds. No registration is required.

Owner Education From Master Association

Section 38-33.3-209.7 Owner Education of the Colorado Revised Statutes specifies that: The Association shall provide, or cause to be provided, education to owners at no cost on at least an annual basis as to the general operations of the association and the rights and responsibilities of owners, the association, and its executive board under Colorado law. The criteria for compliance with this section shall be determined by the executive board. To fulfill this requirement, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association has put together an Owner Education Presentation. We encourage residents to review the presentation and to contact MA Executive Director Chris Pacetti at chrisp@kcranch.org with any questions.
