Graduate & International Student eNewsletter
Volume V, Issue 23 March 4, 2014
You are reminded that it is important that you take the time to read carefully the information contained in these newsletters, as this will be our primary means of communicating important information and deadlines to students.
For answers to many questions, LL.M. students should consult the LL.M. Handbook at  http://law.fordham.edu/llmpolicies.
As most of you already know, our office lost a dear friend and colleague, Matthew Dzioba, this past weekend to complications from leukemia.  Matt began working in our office as a student worker in February 2009, while he was a student at Fordham College Lincoln Center.  We were fortunate to be able to hire him to join our staff full-time as an Assistant Director after he graduated.  His contributions to our programs over the years are countless, but it is his spirit that we will miss the most.
Thank you again to those of you who participated in our Bone Marrow Registry Drive in the fall.  Matt was incredibly touched by the generosity of this community he loved so much.  If you were unable to join in the fall, but are interested in joining now, please go to www.bethematch.org.  Joining the registry will put you on a list to be possibly matched with a blood cancer patient in need of a bone marrow transplant.  The Be the Match Registry is easy to join and gives leukemia patients like Matt their best chance to receive a life-saving transplant.
Information about a memorial service will be forwarded as soon as it becomes available.
Highlights this Week...
Happy March!
We do not have a new post on the LL.M. Career Corner blog today, but in honor of our friend, Matt Dzioba, who was an endlessly and infectiously positive person, I will point you to an old post from almost exactly two years ago:  Being Nice
Highlights in this week's eNewsletter include some fantastic networking opportunities, including the ABA Section of International Law 2014 Spring Meeting and an event hosted by The New York International Arbitration Center.  There is also a new job posting from the law firm of Fried Frank (please only apply if you meet their qualifications).  In addition, students who are not graduating after this term should note the dates for Summer Term registration.

Lunches with Assistant Dean Jaeger-Fine
