EGG DROP RETURNS IN 2014
GRADE I WINNER RESUMES TRAINING WITH BREEDERS' CUP GOAL
The White Witch is back for one more year! There were talks about LRF's Grade I winning mare, Egg Drop, being sold at the upcoming Keeneland January sale. There were even rumors about a private sale. Fear not LRF fans, Egg Drop is back and - we hope - even better in 2014. After winning three straight Graded Stakes races to cap off 2013, including the GI Matriarch, Egg Drop will be pointed to the GII $200,000 Buena Vista Stakes on Monday, February 17 at Santa Anita. Our main goal for her 2014 campaign is a Breeders' Cup race in early November here in California. The question is... which race should we run her in? We will consider all options along the way and we may even hit the Big Apple this year for the $1M Just A Game Stakes. Remember to follow Egg Drop on twitter @lrfwhitewitch.
2014 CLAIMING FUND
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
It's that time of year again!  In two weeks, LRF will launch the 2014 installment of the California Claiming Fund.  In four years, the California Claiming Fund has an astonishing 28% win percentage (23 wins from 82 starts).  This shouldn't imply that every year has turned a profit of course, but we believe it shows the abundance of races, action and best of all fun.  This LRF's most popular partnership.  For more information about the California Claiming Fund, click here to get in touch with us.
As many of you know, all thoroughbreds have their "unofficial racing birthdays" on January 1. Thus, all three LRF yearlings are now two-year-olds... and right now they look super. Midnight Miley and George Zip continue to progress in Ocala, FL with April 2014 as the expected arrival date in California. We even have a new two year about to be syndicated.  "This will be the earliest any LRF 2YO has ever been shipped to So Cal," said LRF Managing Partner Gary Fenton.  "Having a 2YO debut in June is a sizaeable advantage." We still have limited shares available in these partnerships so contact LRF now to join the LRF Thoroughbred Club.
IS PRAGMATICAL THE NEXT LRF STAR?
THE SKY IS THE LIMIT FOR 3YO MORE THAN READY FILLY
With a series of scintillating workouts recently at Santa Anita, all eyes in 2014 are on LRF's latest private acquisition, Pragmatical (pictured with Mike Smith aboard).  By leading sire More Than Ready and out of a Distorted Humor mare, Pragmatical was originally purchased by LRF Executive Bloodstock Agent, Tom McCrocklin (Egg Drop, Kilograeme). Based on McCrocklin's reccomendation, LRF purchased Pragmatical for a new - "smaller" - LRF partnership. "We've had requests over the years to create partnerships with fewer partners who are willing to take larger shares," said LRF Managing Partner Billy Koch. "Although we preach spreading risk with your ownership interests, we have clients who simply want a bigger piece of the pie.  As they say the client is always right!" LRF is calling the Pragmatical group the first "Red Label" partnership and will be creating these smaller partnerships throughout 2014. Pragmatical is scheduled to make her debut at the end of January.
