EGG DROP SECOND IN GII BUENA VISTA STAKES
STAR FILLY WILL HEAD TO KEENELAND FOR NEXT START
After winning three consecutive graded stakes races, including the Grade I Matriarch, Egg Drop started her 2014 campaign with a hard fought second place in the Grade II $200,000 Buena Vista Stakes at Santa Anita (VIDEO). Her second place effort did not damage the White Witch's  reputation as one of the toughest fillies in the country as she battled tooth and nail all the way to the wire with multiple graded stakes winner, Pontchatrain.  Next up for Egg Drop is a trip to Keeneland and a possible rematch with her new rival in the $300,000 Grade I Jenny Wiley or the $300,000 Grade I Madison on Toyota Blue Grass day on April 12th.
UNUSUAL BEAM RETIRES
ALL-ACCESS PASS
After 29 starts in just over 2 years, Unusual Beam was retired in February due to injury.  The Beamer, as he was affectionately known to his LRF Partners accumulated $197,122 from 2 wins, 5 seconds and 6 thirds.  "Another Barry Abrams trained partnership that provided major dividends for our partners," said LRF Managing Partner Gary Fenton. "How many horses earn almost $200,000 with only two wins?" Abrams has pledged to find a great home for the gelding and... he deserves it.  Thank you to all the partners who made the journey with us.  It was a great ride.
Being an LRF partner has its benefits. One of the more popular ones is the all-access pass to the back stretch.  LRF partners have come to enjoy morning workouts as the highlight of the LRF experience.  If you haven't done it yet, please join us in the mornings at Santa Anita (or Los Alamitos). Your "all-access pass" allows you to hob-nob with the trainers, jockeys, and horses.   Race days are fun, but the day-to-day training of your horses is an incredible experience.  If you are an LRF partner and would like to attend a morning workout, please let us know
KENTUCKY DERBY IN LAS VEGAS?
It's never too early to start thinking about LRF's Third Annual Kentucky Derby Weekender in Las Vegas.  Last year, LRF hosted 15 partners and on the first weekend of May 2014, LRF will once again call Mandalay Bay home. Not only will we have great reserved seats in the world-renowned Mandalay Bay sports book, but we will also treat all LRF partners to a dinner at Strip Steak after the Kentucky Oaks on Friday night. If that isn't enough, we are planning on another special/star industry guest joining us in Vegas. If you are interested in joining us in for the trip,  click here to contact us for more information about our special room rates and sports book rebates.
