Outdoor Movie Night May 29

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Foundation will be hosting a FREE outdoor movie night on Thursday, May 29 at Community Park (across the street from Shaffer Elementary). All Ken-Caryl residents are invited to this great family event! The movie will be "The Avengers," and there will be hot dogs, chips, sodas, waters and popcorn available for purchase. The grill will start up at 5:30 p.m., and the movie will start at dusk. Come celebrate the start of summer with all your neighbors!

Pools Open for the Season on Saturday!

All three Ken-Caryl Ranch Pools will open for the season on Saturday, May 24. The Community Center Pool will be open that day from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., the Ranch House Pool from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and the Bradford Pool from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information about the pools, see our Aquatics page.

Trash Service Delay Week of Memorial Day

This is a reminder from the Ken-Caryl Ranch trash service provider, Waste Connections, that Memorial Day is an observed holiday. All trash and recycling service the week of Memorial Day will be delayed one day. Waste Connections offers an auto-dial service to notify customers of any delays or changes in trash pickup days. If you are interested in being notified through this service, you can Sign Up Online. Complete the required information, click on Residential Trash Service, then in the comment section at the bottom of the page explain that you are a Ken-Caryl resident seeking to sign up for the Call Fire service.

Ranch House Parking Lot Closed Friday

The Ranch House parking lot will be closed all day Friday, May 23 for sealcoating and striping. If you need to come to the Ranch House, please park along Continental Divide Road. This project was originally scheduled for May 12 but was postponed due to the weather.

Support Local Businesses and Help the Veterans Monument

Several local businesses have pledged to donate portions of their sales to the Ken-Caryl Ranch Veterans Monument. On Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, Lil' Ricci's NY Pizza will donate 20 percent of all sales. Throughout the year, if you mention the Veterans Monument when you shop at Trendz Boutique, the women's clothing store located in the Ken-Caryl Market Place at Chatfield and Kipling, they will donate 10 percent of your purchase to the Monument Fund.

Volunteer Patrollers & Trail ID Bracelets

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Park Rangers would like to remind residents that Volunteer Patrollers will be out on the private trail system educating users on the Open Space Rules. You may encounter the Volunteer Patrollers anywhere on the private trails, and they will be wearing a yellow vest with identification. If you see them, please offer them the courtesy of identifying yourself as a Ken-Caryl resident or member or display an ID if asked. Better yet, display a blue Open Space ID Bracelet, and you will be able to pass by without being questioned about your residency or membership. Free ID Bracelets can be picked up at the Ranch House or Community Center.

Community-Wide Garage Sale

The Ken-Caryl Community-Wide Garage Sale will be Friday and Saturday, May 30-31 in your own driveway or garage. The advertised time for the sale is 8 a.m.-2 p.m. but feel free to hold your sale earlier or later. Residents DO NOT need to sign up for the garage sale this year. Discounted garage sale signs are available for $4 (normally $6) at the Ranch House. On Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., there will be Goodwill donation trucks at the Ranch House so residents can drop off their unsold items. Members of the Ken-Caryl Ranch Veterans Monument Committee will be manning the trucks, and Goodwill will make a donation to the Monument Fund based on the volume of items donated. Adult Beginner Tennis Class

It's time to give tennis a try! Adult beginner tennis lessons will be offered on Saturdays, June 7-28 from 8-9 a.m. at the Community Center. The four-week class is $56 for residents and $68 for non-residents. Register for Course No. 28258 online or by calling 303-979-2233.

Community Park Playground Now Closed; Help Build the New Playground!

The Community Park Playground, across the street from Shaffer Elementary, will be closed May 19 through June 16 for tear-down, preparation, building and inspection. The new Community Park Playground will be installed on Saturday, May 31, and we need more volunteers to help build it! Community volunteers will do most of the installation, supervised by employees of the playground equipment manufacturer. The Community Build is a great event for the whole family. There are multiple shifts available for several age groups as well as fun activities planned throughout the day. For more information and to sign up, see our Special Events page.
