The Waste Connections recycling truck isn't running today due to a mechanical problem. The company is hoping to pick up Monday's recycling on Tuesday, so please leave out your recycling an extra day. The trash service is not affected.

The Ken-Caryl Community-Wide Garage Sale will be Friday and Saturday, May 30-31 in your own driveway or garage. The advertised time for the sale is 8 a.m.-2 p.m. but feel free to hold your sale earlier or later. Residents will not need to sign up for the garage sale this year. Discounted garage sale signs will be available for $4 (normally $6) starting Wednesday, May 14 at the Ranch House. On Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., there will be Goodwill donation trucks at the Ranch House so residents can drop off their unsold items. Members of the Ken-Caryl Ranch Veterans Monument Committee will be manning the trucks, and Goodwill will make a donation to the Veterans Monument based on the volume of items donated. The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District is offering a free Intro to Tennis for Adults class on Sunday, May 18 from 9-10 a.m. at the Community Center. Bring a tennis racquet if you have one, or there will be a few available to borrow. Register for Course No. 28260 online or by calling 303-979-2233.

The new Community Park Playground, across the street from Shaffer Elementary, will be installed on Saturday, May 31, and we need more volunteers to help! Community volunteers will do most of the installation, supervised by employees of the playground equipment manufacturer. The Community Build is a great event for the whole family. There are multiple shifts available for several age groups as well as fun activities planned throughout the day. Community Park will be closed May 19 through June 15 for tear-down, preparation, building and inspection. Sign up by May 16 to get a free T-shirt!
