Dear Loyola Community,
We’ve reached the end of the academic year and are entering a time of reflection and celebration: the closing of one chapter and the start of another.
For the class of 2024, Commencement is particularly meaningful. These students ended high school and started college during the pandemic. They faced the unprecedented challenges of virtual learning and social isolation and missed out on many beloved traditions. But these graduates have shown remarkable resilience and adaptability. They have triumphed over adversity and are ready for whatever their future holds. We are so thankful they will be able to walk the stage, enjoy the moment, and celebrate with the community that stood by them throughout their time at Loyola.
I’m also incredibly proud of our first-generation college students. Graduating from college is transformational for them and their families, and Loyola is thrilled to be part of that story. Their achievements will have a ripple effect on their future and future generations.
I also want to recognize our faculty and staff who have dedicated themselves to educating our students and upholding and promoting our Jesuit values. As I wrap up my first academic year at Loyola, I am continually inspired by all who play a role in preparing our students to lead meaningful lives with and for others. I know from my interactions with this class that they are ready to build a more just world and to step into their next role pursuing truth, wisdom, and virtue.
To our seniors, know that this is not goodbye. You are and will always be members of the Wolf Pack—now as alumni. To our continuing students, I look forward to our paths crossing again soon.
Whatever comes your way in your next chapter, we’re with you, and you’re ready.
Peace and Blessings,
