SGI Charity Chili Cookoff Feb. 28-March 1
St. George Island will host its annual Charity Chili Cookoff and Auction February 28-March 1. Activities include a golf tournament, 5K Red Pepper Run, Chili Cook-off, Auction and the naming of Miss Chili Pepper and Mr. Hot Sauce. Annual Eastpoint Fire Dept Charity Rib Cookoff
 The Annual Eastpoint Volunteer Fire Department Charity Rib Cookoff will be held Saturday, March 15th at the fire house in Eastpoint, Florida at Vroom Park. In addition to spirited rib competition, this year's event will include  a carnival. BBQ dinners will be served from 11:00 am till it’s all gone. Click here for details.

Carrabelle Coastal Art Tour
The Carrabelle Artists Association is presenting its Annual Coastal Art Tour on March 8. Art exhibits and demonstrations will be presented at participating galleries, studios, and shops in downtown Carrabelle. Click here for details.
 
Salt Exhibit On Display
The Carrabelle History Museum will present a special exhibit beginning in March about the history of salt in Florida. From uses during the Civil War and salt's role in early Florida settlements, the exhibit will feature early artifacts and memorabilia including vintage salt shakers. Click here for more information.

 HCA Hosts Spring Art Workshops
The Apalachicola School of Art will host a series of art workshops this spring. Unless otherwise noted, all workshops will take place at Apalachicola's Center for History, Culture and Art.

 St. Vincent Island Hosts Open House March 28
The St. Vincent Island National Wildlife Refuge will host its Annual Open House on Friday, March 28 with wildlife exhibits, nature walks, presentations and tours. Come and spend the day on beautiful St Vincent Island and enjoy the tours and program offered at the Open House.  The event is sponsored by the Supporters of St. Vincent NWR, Inc. St. Vincent Island is located just offshore at the western-most boundary of the Franklin-Gulf County line. Click here for details.

You can also join the Apalachicola Riverkeepers for their monthly paddle trip each fourth Saturday of the month.

Rio Carrabelle Hosts Unique Photo Exhibit beginning in March 
The Rio Carrabelle Art Gallery in Carrabelle will host a unique photography exhibit beginning this month. Photographer and adventurer John Guider presents the images which were taken as part of a solo voyage along the Gulf and Atlantic Coast. Click here for more information.
 Apalachicola ArtWalk & Wine Fest March 22
The Apalachicola Bay Chamber will host its annual Artwalk and Wine Fest on Saturday, March 22. Art in all forms will be woven in and around picturesque downtown Apalachicola where artists will be showing, selling and demonstrating their talents from 11am-6pm. Festivities continue into the afternoon with a progressive wine tasting and hor douvres from 3-5pm.  Later in the evening local chefs will prepare special dishes at their restaurants highlighting our fresh local ingredients.  At 8pm the Dixie Theatre presents Del Suggs live at the Dixie Theatre.  Click here for more information. The Carrabelle Lighthouse Association kicks off its 2014 movie night season with a St. Patrick's Day showing of the film "The Secret of Roan Inish at the Crooked River Lighthouse part. Authors in Apalach To Feature Two Renowned History Authors
The Apalachicola Municipal Library will host its third annual Authors in Apalach event on Saturday, March 15, at the Fort Coombs Armory in Apalachicola. The event annually  gathers authors, photographers and historians together for writers' forums, panel discussions and book signings. This year's event will also feature two renowned and beloved history professors and authors.
