Building Inter-faith connections

Since beginning my time at Sisters of the Road I’ve heard many times that we aim to truly embody our mission statement, to “Build authentic relationships… nurture the whole individual… while seeking systemic solutions that reach the roots of homelessness and poverty to end them forever.” The heart of this statement is shared in common with almost all interfaith and diverse worldview gatherings I have ever belonged to. Upon learning of the Interfaith Council of Greater Portland (ICGP) I knew I had to check it out. Charla and I attended our first meeting in March to find our presence and voices welcomed and invited.
