Dear Loyola Community,
Standing on the threshold of my inauguration, I’m deeply humbled and honored to serve this vibrant and compassionate community. Loyola Week marks a momentous occasion in our journey. I want to take this opportunity to reflect on some essential values that define our institution and underscore our commitment to positive change.
The essence of Cura Personalis extends beyond self-care. It is about a concern for the development of the whole person – a dedication to promoting human dignity. It encompasses our connection with one another and our commitment to serving a wider community. This theme, rooted in Catholic charism, calls us to serve ourselves and the world.
As President, it is my duty to ensure that we, as a university, continue to foster these meaningful connections, as they are the bedrock of our success. I envision Loyola as an anchor institution, deeply rooted in New Orleans, contributing to the future of our city, state and nation. The transformative power of a Jesuit education is a force for good that extends far beyond our campus, and I am dedicated to amplifying its impact.
Let us continue to embrace our community values, make meaningful connections, and serve others with dedication and love. Thank you for being part of this incredible community, and I look forward to seeing many of your faces and celebrating the next chapter of our great university!
Peace and blessings,
Dr. Xavier Cole
President
