Dear Fenwick Community,

As many of you know, a search is now underway to find the next President of Fenwick High School. We are very grateful to Fr. Richard Peddicord, O.P., for his work as president and his many accomplishments over the past twelve years. Father will continue to serve the Fenwick community in his new role as the Director of Catholic and Dominican Mission. We wish him the very best as he transitions to this new position.

The Fenwick Board of Directors has initiated a search to find the School’s first lay President and has named an Advisory Council to oversee the process. The Advisory Council was carefully selected to strongly and broadly reflect key stakeholders in the Fenwick community in this important endeavor, and its work is already well underway. We are excited to have the Advisory Council’s assistance and direction, and are encouraged by its progress to date. Be assured that it is the Board’s and the Advisory Council’s intent to move very expeditiously, and we are indebted to this excellent team who have shown years of dedicated service to Fenwick and have agreed to take on this significant responsibility.

Below is a listing of the preferred qualifications and a job description for the next President of Fenwick High School. Note that the Advisory Council has initially determined that a fundamental qualification for the position is a strong connection to, or knowledge of, the Fenwick Community and it has already received indications of interest. Please take a moment to review these items and consider whether you may know of - or might be - a candidate who fills the bill and is interested in discussing the position. You may reach out directly to any Advisory Council member, or you may contact the Council at the following email address:

We are extremely excited to find the woman or man who will lead Fenwick into its second century. We welcome your support and recommendations as the search progresses. Fenwick has always been not just a school but a transformational experience for its students and families, and we’re looking for a President who will honor our rich traditions and build a bridge to the future for our beloved institution.

As we conduct our search, Mike Comiskey (‘66) has been gracious enough to agree to serve as Fenwick’s Interim President, to ensure orderly and effective leadership while the search is ongoing. Mike is well-known to Fenwick and is also very familiar with Fenwick governance, having served many years as a Fenwick Board member, in addition to being a parent of four Friars and a decades-long member of Fenwick’s Facilities Committee. Mike has our complete confidence and support in this role, and we are truly grateful for his willingness to assist Fenwick as we transition to our next great President.

We look forward to hearing from you. God Bless and Go Friars!
