Morgan Purvis '16

Morgan Purvis is the Director of Public Relations and Marketing at the Jacksonville Armada FC. She graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in photography in 2016.
During her time at UNF, Purvis was active both on and off campus with several internships and a role as the photo editor for Spinnaker Media. Purvis expressed how her time at Spinnaker Media prepared her for media relations as a public relations professional. Among her memories from UNF, she fondly looks back at the chance to be a part of the coverage of the UNF Men’s Basketball 2015 season. Traveling to Dayton, Ohio, Purvis was able to cover the team’s first berth in the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
"My time at UNF was so valuable because I quickly learned that to be successful outside of college, I had to supplement my education with real-world experience," she said. "The Department of Communication was great at encouraging students to take advantage of opportunities on and off campus."
While overseeing the public relations and marketing interns at the Armada FC, Purvis also takes time to guest speak at events for UNF and help students as a UNF communications mentor. Recently, Purvis participated in the UNF COAS Career Success Center’s Professional U career development forum where she spoke to and gave advice to students.
“I have stayed connected with UNF and actively seek out opportunities to help students because I want to give back to the University that helped me to succeed,” said Purvis.
