Tuition Freedom Day
Student Philanthropy Council members set out to say thanks to those who help make education a reality during Tuition Freedom Day, February 18. The day represents the time in the academic year during which tuition dollars "run out" and funds from internal and external supporters kick in to keep the university operating. 
All eyes are on the market as associate professor Lee Freeman teaches financial risk and investment strategy at Dearborn Heights Montessori Center, where investing $100,000 of fake money can lead to some unexpectedly real life lessons. 
Sick of the snow yet? These students aren't. Prepping for the annual ION Autonomous Snowplow Competition might have some dreaming of a future free of shovels. But members of the Intelligent Systems Club see the experience as a competitive advantage in the job market.

The Dearborn Office of Research & Sponsored Programs announced more than $375,000 in recent external awards from Public Allies and the National Science Foundation.
