happy easter
And this is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life.
1 John 2:25
A message from the Lafayette Great Banquet & Awakening
Community Spiritual Director
Easter is a fun holiday. There are bunnies that hide eggs, children hunting for eggs, and people dressing up in nice clothes.
But Easter is a time of meaning, inspiration, and reflection. It’s the belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead leaving an empty tomb. Easter says that life is essential, spiritual and timeless.  Easter says as we live and die, Jesus died and lived!
The message of Easter is a good time to enjoy all of your many meaningful blessings: family, friends, Jesus, and, of course, chocolate molded into tasty bunnies.
New life is what Easter is all about. I’m wishing you a beautiful new life made possible by the amazing gift of the Easter story.
My prayer for you is this.......
I pray that your Easter is filled with the joy that Christ offers in his resurrection. I pray that love, joy, and peace can be yours because of the grace of Jesus Christ. May the Lord's face shine upon you this Easter. In Christ I pray, Amen.

Blessings of Abundance
We would like to share with the Banquet and Awakening Community some of the mighty work our Father in heaven is doing, for He hears our cries and answers our petitions!  We are praising His name for the awesome turn out of sleepers during the Boy’s weekend.  There were a total of 28 boys who participated and received nurturing, guidance and most of all love, from a team of well-prepared adults and youth.
We are confident that the upcoming Girls weekend will experience the same.  As of Wednesday, April 16th, there are 20 young ladies signed up, with room to host up to 35.
We also send out our thanks to all who have helped and supported in any way, such as through sponsorship, fasting and prayer, financial contributions, serving, and attending the candlelight and closings.  We are truly blessed to be in unity with so many believers that share in the same mission, which is, “To know Jesus as Savior and Lord, and to make Him known.”
As a reminder, registrations are still being accepted through 9 pm on Easter Sunday.  You can find both the registration and permission forms at www.lafgb.org and they will need to be sent to Mike and Pam Winings at the email address listed.

Treasurer's Report
This amazing Community has blessed the  weekends with your prayer, service, and financial support.  As the final spring weekend approaches, I want to take a minute to update you on our finances.  As of today, our weekend expenses are right in line with $100 for every team member, guest, or sleeper.  This spring we will spend $26,000 - $28,000 for the Banquet & Awakening Weekends.  Thus far, we have received  ~ $24,000 in contributions.  We need your help to close the gap.  This includes ~ $500 in outstanding book table IOU's.
Please take a moment and pray about how you can financially support the Banquet & Awakening weekends.  Any amount is a tremendous blessing. Contributions can be made online (see above "donate now" link) or mailed to the address noted below.
