Hi All,
Welcome to the 23rd edition of ATMIA Canada's Newsletter. Although winter may be officially over, the ATM industry continues to weather some stormy industry issues.
The association, its members and committees, have been active in protecting the integrity and security of the ATM business. Some of the issues have subsided for a while, but have been resurrected for unknown reasons. The scope of issues include, though are not limited to, cybercrimes, theft of ATM machines, skimming fraud, impacts of Windows 7 & 8, capping of surcharge, Bitcoin, AML fulfillment, etc. The role of running an ATM business sometimes seems to be taking a back seat to wider industry work. We remain vigilant in keeping our members informed and about finding the best way to deal with each issue.
You will become much more aware of the issues that may impact you and your business at our upcoming conference in June 4-5, 2014. And there is also some good news to bring spring cheer to our members, such as the launch of our new certified ATM operators online training program and new best practices. I look forward to seeing everyone in Niagara Falls for our upcoming annual industry conference.
