To all affiliate faculty, here are several timely updates:

1. The COACHE Steering Committee invites you to attend a COACHE Session specifically for Affiliates and Senior Affiliates at GVSU. At the session, faculty facilitators will provide a brief overview of the COACHE survey and report, followed by a discussion of its findings. The goal is to explore how faculty and administrators can work together to build on our strengths and address concerns identified in the survey.

The COACHE session for Affiliate Faculty is scheduled for Friday, October 25, 9:00 – 10:30 AM, via Zoom. Go to this form to register.

2. Beginning this fall, there are affiliate faculty voting representatives in the faculty senate. Jennifer Cymbola of Biology, chair of the Affiliate Faculty Advisory Committee (AFAC) represents affiliate faculty on ECS and UAS. Julia Mason of Writing is the second affiliate faculty representative on UAS. Nancy Carlson of Nursing represents affiliate faculty on the COACHE Steering Committee. Contact information:

3. As described on the Office of the Provost’s website, “All affiliate faculty are expected to have an approved workload plan each semester, documented either (1) by the provided form, (2) through Digital Measures, or (3) through another form provided by the unit.”  Working with AFAC, the provided form on the site was recently refreshed.
