Calling All Purple Zebras!

It's that time of year again - Amplify Austin! Last year, Austinites came together to donate $2.8 million to local nonprofits in 24 hours - this year's goal is $4 million! You can help us in two ways:

Sign up now to be an Amplify fundraiser for The Christi Center. It's free and easy - we'll give you all the tools you need to help spread the word about The Christi Center via email and social media on March 20-21. Our goal is to raise $17,000 this year, that's just 34 ambassadors raising $500 each!
Come to our Purple Zebra Party on March 20th at 6:30 pm. This is a fun, free event for the whole Christi Center community. We'll have food, drinks, music, a livestream of the Amplify Austin giving leaderboard, and a little friendly competition between local nonprofit friends to see who can raise the most money in 24 hours. Will you help us?

PS. If you haven't heard the zebra story yet, then you should definitely come to the party to learn why the zebra is our unofficial mascot!

February is Loss of a Spouse/Partner Month

In honor of our sweethearts who live on in our hearts forever, February is loss of a spouse/partner month here at the Center. Read some writings from members who have written about their loss on our blog. Have a story you'd like to share about yours? Email Lara George about posting for our blog, or share it on our Facebook page.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS

Got time and a little technical expertise? We can put it to good use! We're currently looking for volunteers for the following jobs:

Google Analytics/SEO Keyword Analyst - If you know what this means, we need your help! Help us optimize our website exposure so more grieving people can find us.
Video editor - We've got digital video. Can you help us shorten and spruce it up so we can show (instead of tell) people what we do?

New Potluck Format! Second Stage Mondays

For those who have attended groups in the past, you know on the second Monday of each month, our groups look a little different as we offer another opportunity for healing - potlucks or dinner meetings as chance to socialize with others from The Christi Center. In 2014, we'll continue to offer these quarterly, but we'll also offer a variety of other topics to help us as we travel the grief journey together. We'll start this new adventure in March with "Healing by Helping Others" on March 10th, a panel of Christi Center clients and staff discussing the different ways that giving back has helped them heal.
