Conceptual Plans for Improvements to Ranch House, Community Center and Dakota Lodge

Conceptual plans have been developed for the Ranch House, Community Center and Dakota Lodge/Ranger Station to show residents the possible improvements to these facilities if Bond Issue 5A passes in the May election. If the Bond Issue passes, community input will be sought in the final design process. See the  Bond Election Information page for more information about Bond Issue 5A.

Chatfield Ave. Improvement Project Update

Jefferson County's contractor for the Chatfield Ave. improvement project will start doing landscape improvements and roadway punch list repairs today throughout the project site. The work will continue through mid-May and will include some traffic lane and sidewalk closures in order to do the work. The contractor will use signs to guide pedestrians around the work zones during construction.

Residents Invited to Review New Community Signage Options

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association will be replacing the main entrance signs around Ken-Caryl Ranch. The Master Association has contracted with Arthouse Design to help develop the new sign design. Residents are invited to review the designs and provide comments when they are presented and discussed during the Master Association and Metropolitan District Joint Study Session on Tuesday, April 1 at 6 p.m. at the Ranch House.

Community Meetings Will Be Held in April to Discuss the Upcoming May Bond Election

Two Community Meetings will be held in April to present information and answer questions regarding the May Bond Election for capital improvements for the community. Residents are encouraged to attend on either Saturday, April 5 at 9 a.m. at the Dakota Lodge or Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at the Ranch House. There will be a brief presentation followed by a question and answer session. These meetings are organized and presented by the "Residents for the Future of Ken-Caryl." See the Bond Election Information page for more information about Bond Ballot Question 5A. Your involvement is important to the future of our community.

Ranch House Playground Closing March 31; Volunteers Needed to Build New Playground

The Ranch House playground will be closed beginning Monday, March 31 and will reopen on Wednesday, April 16 to provide time to remove the old equipment and have the new playground inspected. The new playground will be installed on Saturday, April 12, and we are in need of volunteers for the construction. This great community event for the whole family has multiple shifts available and will feature fun activities planned throughout the day. For more information and to sign up, see our Special Events page.

Summer Camp Registration

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District offers summer camps for school-age kids and preschoolers. Our age-specific camps are designed to provide fun, playful and enriching experiences for campers. The School-Age Summer Camps serve students in kindergarten-6th grade, and Preschool Camps are for 3-5 year olds. If you have a soon-to-be kindergartener, please consider our new Kinder Kamp. Registration for School-Age, Preschool and Kinder Kamps is done through a lottery system. The lottery will be held at the Ranch House Monday, March 31 through Friday, April 4 until 6 p.m.

Prairie Dog Task Force

The primary purpose of the Prairie Dog Task Force (PDTF) is to develop a conservation policy for Ken-Caryl Ranch Open Space and Parks staff use that recognizes the ecological significance of the black-tailed prairie dog within the prairie ecosystem, while addressing the concerns of private landowners and residents, considering other wildlife species and preserving the conservation values for which Open Space was established. The PDTF shall be comprised of five to seven members and consist of residents who represent a variety of viewpoints on the subject of prairie dogs. If you are interested in serving, contact Chris Pacetti at chrisp@kcranch.org or 303-979-1876, ext. 116.
