Master Association Board Election Results

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association would like to welcome new MA Board members Seth Murphy and Erlinda Stafford, as well as Chris Figge, who was elected for another term. In addition to the three newly elected members, Dan Mullins and Valerie Walling will continue their terms on the Board. Congratulations to Chris, Seth and Erlinda!

Bond Election Fact Sheet

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District (KCRMD) will place Ballot Question 5A on the May 6 ballot asking voters to authorize KCRMD to issue up to $7.9 million in tax-exempt debt for improvements to the Ken-Caryl Ranch community. Pursuant to C.R.S. 1-45-117(1) (b) (I), the KCRMD is providing a Factual Summary regarding the bond election. Please review it to learn more about the bond election.

Volunteer Needed for Covenant Control Committee

Ken-Caryl Ranch is looking for one additional volunteer for the Covenant Control Committee, which was established to uphold the governing documents of the Master Association and to ensure enforcement in a fair and timely manner. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Ranch House. If you are interested in applying, please download a Committee Application and return it to victoriad@kcranch.org.

Correct Pronunciation of Ken-Caryl

While many people, including residents, pronounce the name of this community as “Ken Carl,” it is actually pronounced “Ken Carroll.” Former Ken-Caryl Ranch owner John Shaffer’s two sons, after whom the Ranch was named, were Kent and Carroll Shaffer.

Help Build New Ranch House Playground

A new playground will be installed at the Ranch House on April 12, and you are invited to help build it! Ken-Caryl Ranch is able to provide an average of 20 percent more equipment by using volunteers to build the playground. This allows us to make sure there is enough equipment to properly support the range of age groups and volume of children who use the parks. The community build for the Ranch House playground will be April 12, and we are looking for volunteers! There will be a similar event on May 31 for the new playground at Community Park. To find out more information about volunteering as well as to see the design plans, see our Special Events page.

District Dimensions Summer Course Catalog

Each year, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District publishes District Dimensions, which is a catalog that lists summer classes and events for the community. District Dimensions is inserted into the March 12 issue of Life at Ken-Caryl. Please make sure to take it out of the paper this week and keep it for your reference for summer programs. Registration for summer courses will begin April 7 for residents and April 14 for non-residents.

Colorado Bluebird Presentation

Join Kevin Corwin, director of the Colorado Bluebird Project, for a glimpse into the private lives of Colorado’s bluebirds in a special program on Sunday, March 16 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Ranch House. You’ll learn about their natural history, nesting cycle, challenges they face from people and predators, and what you can do to help. Kevin will also present updates from the current nest box monitoring volunteers and discuss additional volunteer opportunities with the Open Space monitoring program. Please RSVP by March 10 to Ranger Gary Norton at garyn@kcranch.org or 303-904-0249.
