Jim DeLisle recently joined the New Tampa Young Life Board as its chairperson. He knows what kind of an impact Young Life has on teenagers from his own teenage years, and from watching his kids experience Young Life in New Tampa.
He and his wife, Amy, have three children. Caroline is 14 and attends WyldLife. Abby is 17 and attends Young Life. Michael is 19 and attends Young Life College at FSU. All three have attended camps and Michael served on work crew last summer.
You might expect the DeLisle kids to say their favorite thing about Young Life is camp, but they don't. Although they love camp, the best part is finding a place in their everyday lives where they can be themselves, and have deep conversations and growing relationships with their leaders.
"Young Life has been a consistent, dependable source of support, faith-filled wisdom and fun," says Amy. "Much of that has stemmed from the committed, caring leaders who share life -- and faith -- with our kids on their level."
