For the 5th consecutive year LRF hosted partners in Mandalay's famous sports book for the 2104 Kentucky Derby. LRF Partners Bob and Cheryl Bakke (pictured), Pete and Polly Martin, as well as Jimmy Crews, Joe Rosen and many others were on hand for a great weekend which included a partner dinner at Vegas' best steak house - Strip Steak. "The camaraderie among our partners is amazing," said LRF Managing Partner Billy Koch. "We are so fortunate that our like minded partners create a tremendous country club atmosphere. I am already looking forward to next year's trip." |

Diane Johnson is the official winner of LRF's 6th annual "Win a Free Share of an LRF Race Horse" Kentucky Derby contest. Diane correctly selected California Chrome to win by 1 3/4 lengths! LRF's annual fete was by far its most popular to date with 377 entries. In fact, Diane was one of FOUR winners. Per the rules, a "traditional shake" was conducted.
Diane wins a free share of LRF's latest 2yo filly prospect High Profit. Regina Ahlmann won the consolation prize - a club house box for 4 to opening day Del Mar 2014. Thank you to everyone who participated. |

Bobby Z Man, purchased privately less than 45 days ago won FOR THE SECOND TIME in his short - three race - LRF career when easily defeating starter allowance foes at Santa Anita (see video to the right). The 3yo CA bred son of Unusual Heat has already amassed $73,000 in earnings for his LRF partners and should be ready to run later this month in a CA bred allowance race for LRF's all-time leading trainer, Barry Abrams. |
