Financial Aid, Satisfactory Academic Progress, Appeal for Aid

Dear Hornet,,

After a review of your Fall grades, it was determined that you did not meet one or more of the SAP probation standards and are ineligible for Spring 2024 aid.

Spring tuition fees must be paid by February 2, 2024. Refer to the Bursar's website for information on due dates and consequences of not meeting payment deadlines.

Apply for a (credit-based) alternative loan from an outside lender.
Pay your tuition fees in full or sign up for the Installment Payment Plan and make the required payments on time to keep your classes.
Drop to part-time (6 or fewer units) to pay the reduced tuition fees.
Withdraw before the University deadline to receive a refund of fees paid.

File an Appeal for Spring

If you had unusual circumstances that prevented you from successfully completing the fall semester, you must submit the following documents for consideration:

Fall 2023 SAP Probation Appeal
SAP Supporting documentation (if applicable)

All SAP documents can be uploaded securely through the Online Upload Tool.

While you are waiting for a decision...

Processing timelines are about 3-5 weeks and may increase during peak periods. There is no financial aid assistance while your appeal is under review which includes federal student loans. If you plan to stay enrolled for Spring 2024, be sure to make payment arrangements with the Bursar’s Office to avoid late fees and holds.

We recommend that you meet with your academic advisor to review your academic plan to ensure progress toward degree completion. Refer to your student account for advisor details.
