SEATTLE - It was colder than we've seen in nearly a decade and a half Wednesday morning.

Seattle saw temperatures hit 32 degrees early in the morning, making it the coldest it has been in April for 14 years.

"Rain and snow showers will continue through Friday.," KOMO News meteorologist Kristin Clark said. "Thunder on Saturday signals the last storm of the week. Brief break of dry weather Easter Sunday before widespread rain and mountain snow return Monday-Tuesday next week."

Western Washington remains in the grip of a winter chill and with the freezing level so low in the atmosphere, it doesn't take much for showers to bring hail and snowflakes in the low lands.

"A gusty shower rolled over the Sea-Tac Airport yesterday and the temperature went from 46 degrees at 2:00 PM to 36 degrees with wet snow at 3:00 PM, a whopping 10-degree temperature drop in one hour," Clark revealed.

Snow is falling along the Oregon border as well in the same spots where a white blanket fell on Monday.

"The Willapa Hills, Clark/Cowlitz County, and the southern Cascades will come away with 1-3 inches, enough to make a mess of the morning commute," Clark said. "These bands of snow will swirl into Puget Sound in the form of a rain/snow mix this afternoon. Any quick burst of snow could leave a slushy accumulation on grassy/elevated surfaces, with roads remaining just wet."

Thursday and Friday could bring an isolated, icy shower while picking up in intensity Saturday.

Easter Sunday seems to bring us some sunshine back, with temperatures hitting the mid-50s for an afternoon egg hunt.
