LaunchTN chooses Everly, Utilize Health for TENN program

Launch Tennessee, a state-funded nonprofit, announced eight companies chosen to participate in its annual business accelerator program for Tennessee-based startups, called The TENN. The TENN taps companies that have participated in the statewide network of entrepreneur centers and programs.

The TENN program lasts four months and connects companies to mentors and industry experts and  provides entrepreneurship training. It includes a statewide tour of Tennessee and trips to visit investors in San Francisco and New York.

"This year's class represents a diverse set of industries and geographies across the state," said John Lanahan, Launch Tennessee director of capital formation.

Nashville companies include Everly and Utilize Health. MomSource Network, based in Knoxville, operates in Nashville as well.

The companies include:

Avrio Analytics - Knoxville: Avrio is a Software as a Service company that offers predictive marketing services to mid-market companies currently excluded from the big data market due to high cost and high-risk investments.

Everly - Nashville: Everly creates natural drink mixes to help people stay energized and drink more water, and for every box purchased, the company provides life-saving rehydration salts to children with waterborne disease.

Vanderbilt grads' Everly drink mix hits bigger shelves

Grow Bioplastics - Knoxville: The company is improving food sustainability by offering farmers, greenhouse managers and nursery operators a range of renewable, biodegradable plastic products made from lignin, a paper industry byproduct, eliminating regular plastic disposal costs.

MomSource Network - Knoxville: MomSource Network connects educated, professional women to flexible full-time, permanent part-time, job-shared and telecommute opportunities. The company also provides professional development and networking for members of our Network.

Rendever - Cambridge, Mass.: Rendever is an MIT startup that offers a research-based virtual reality platform to improve the aging process by providing cognitive stimulation and social engagement for the elderly.

RootsRated - Chattanooga: RootsRated provides software-driven content marketing solutions for outdoor brands and destination marketers.

SweetBio - Memphis: SweetBio's vision is to revolutionize healing because the world deserves to smile. Starting in dental, SweetBio specifically designed a dental membrane uniquely utilizing Manuka honey to promote healing.

Utilize Health - Nashville: Utilize Health is a care coordination solution comprised of digital tools and concierge services provided to health plans and hospital systems to reduce care costs and improve patient health.
